Birthday Celebrations

I am hours away from celebrating my 30th birthday. I just want to say how appreciative I am of my Mom not only carrying me for 9 months (or just shy of) and spending hours in pain and agony to bring me into this world, but also for all of the love, care, and concern that she has given to me these 30 years. Of course, I thank my Dad too, but being a Mommy and not a Daddy I don't know exactly how he felt through the whole experience. I now think that birthdays should be for the Mommy's :)

That being said, I have been blessed with the one thing that I have been hoping and praying for nearly a year to receive...the wonderful privilege to yet again become a Mommy to ANOTHER BABY! Yes, after much crying and praying to the Lord, He has answered and I am a little over 6 weeks pregnant. SOOO, the end of September Elijah will no longer be our one and only. My first OB appointment was today and so far everything looks good so we decided that we can spill the beans. They have changed some of their policies around and so now everyone gets an early ultrasound to be sure of dates so one day soon we will get to see our new little jellybean.

A little off the subject I have been craving an old family comfort food...pasties. My Grandma's family is from Cornwall England and that's something that the miners used to take to work to eat. Well, near work there is a place called Cornish Pasty Co. They sell pasties and I just had to try them. There are a lot of places that sell pasties out here because of the copper mines but so far none has been close to the real McCoy. Well, I finally have found the real deal. When I ordered the waitress told me I wouldn't be disappointed and she was right. Steak, potatoes, onion, and rutabaga in a yummy crust...just like Grandmas. Well, I better go. I'm still 29 and holding right now...I better relish it. Just kidding. I'll be 29 forever!
