Swimming

No, we were not swimming recently. Again...old picture but wasn't he having fun? Had to share.

Anyway. We are still sick here. I have little voice and a nasty cough. Elijah and Jake  have colds. The little boys are quite sick, especially Jonah. I took him to urgent care yesterday and was started on breathing treatments because he has been wheezing.  I was told to come back in the morning and because he is still wheezing so today he was started onn some steroids and antibiotics just in case. The doctor said if its RSV we're doing the most we can do so why test for it. The antibiotics are just in case it happens to be strep because he has a rash on his face or double pnemonia since he sounds "junky" on both sides of his lungs. Augh! I hope he feels better soon. Now Noah is getting worse. It's hard bc they were both up all night and  I don't feel well myself. I hope this sickness is done by the end of the week!

We have been giving the boys baths in the sink bc it's just easier. Well Elijah decided he wanted one too. Look how big he is! I can't believe it!

More updates...we're all sick. Everyone has the bug...and it's not nice. Now I realize how icky it is to be a Mommy and be sick. Wasn't so bad with just Elijah but with the 3...yucky! When do I get to heal? I guess I'll survive. It makes me more appreciative of all my Mom did for me. Love ya Mom!

SOOO Exhausted

For the past 2 weeks I have been soooo exhausted. It's been to the extremee of not being able to do much but lie on the couch barely taking care of my children's basic needs. I feel like I did when I first found out I was pregnant with the twins which oddly enough was exactly a year ago. No, I am not pregnant...I know that's what you were thinking. It also is similar to when I was treated for dehydration...but not quite. Besides the extreme fatigue my body just aches like I have the flu. Something just wasn't right so I (more like Jake) decided I needed to visit the doctor. I saw the PA...and I really like her...she's nice..she listened...BUT...I got what pretty much everyone has been telling me..."you have twin babies and a 2 year old." I know this. But to ME there is a change. The boys are sleeping through the night. They were sleeping from about 9 to 4or 5. Now it's til about 7 or so. Also work has had less patients so we have been canceling nurses so I have actually had a couple days off. In any event something just isn't right. Soooo...we got some labs to rule out some things including anemia and hypothyroidism (my top suspicions), lupus, and rhematoid arthritis for all the achiness. Well, I have been waiting and waiting (ok, so it's been aa week but that's a long time when you think something has to be despirately wrong) and she finally called me today. Everything came back normal. What? Seriously. then she said, well, your calcium is high so I am going to order a test to check your parathyroid, but yeah, nothing else. It's probably some mild post partum depression and fatigue from the twins. OK. Really. I KNOW depression manifests in many ways...but I had it last time and this is NOTHING like that. So I was WAY disapointed. I know, I know, who WANTS something to be wrong with them? ME! She said I wasn't young anymore and just tired. Well...now I decided to look up hyperparathyroidism...I SOOOO have it! It's kind of rare but hypercalcemia is pretty much aa deciding factor that you have it. AND it causes a lot of the symptoms...headaches, extreme fatigue, bone soreness...that I have been complaining of. Now I can't wait to get the test to find out...despite the fact that the "cure" is surgery. I just want to feel normal again...and not be told I am old :)

Hope in a Box

Here is Elijah with his hope in a box. this picture, again, is a little old. I wanted to post it though bc we went to McDonalds yesterday. Uncle Jimmy and Aunt Rebecca got him a gift card to "Donalds" so he could get his "hope in a box" as part of his gift. Unfortunately to his dismay hope now comes in a bag. Elijah's reaction.."WHAT?" He still found it yummy and ate it "allll gooonnee". Lil' stinker.

Poor Elijah

We are finally getting back home from urgent care after he fell at church and hurt his hand. We had to drive way out to the Gateway area bc the urgent care by us was closed and we didn't want to go to the ER. After 4 hrs of waiting we found out it was not broken but the dr thinks he has an abnormal blood vessel. The radiologist will look at it tomorrow to be sure.Thankfully we were blessed to have Jake's Mom watch the boys while we went. There was a bunch of sickos with RSV which I would very much like to avoid this winter. Elijah was a trooper and was very cooperative even though it was so late at night.

Me...I don't know what's wrong. I am beyond tired and EVERYTHING aches. I have been sleeping just fine at night...the boys only wake up at maybe 4 usually 5or 6am. I feel like I can't even function...even get dizzy. Augh! I don't have time for this!

Big Brother

Elijah is a super duper big brother. He is constantly giving smooches and hugs and is always right there when they cry to try to calm them with one of his silly antics. He even likes to blow on their bellies. He helped Daddy change a diaper yesterday and will get things like diapers for us when we need them. Youmre awesome lil' dude! Keep up the good work!

The boys are 4 months and measurements are in. Jonah is 15lbs 11oz and 25 inches. Noah is 14lbs 14oz and 24inches. They both gained exactly 9lbs in 4 months. They have been super hungry today and woke up a couple times last night so I'm thinking growth spurt!

I looked back at a previous post and found that at 4 months Elijah was 17lbs and 26 inches so really the boys have grown even more considering they were 3 weeks early and smaller.

Anyway I best be getting to bed. I have been SO tired lately...even with them sleeping through the night. Just so much going on!

Christmas Eve

Ok, so I am a little behind. I have a lot of random pictures that I downloaded to my blog the other day and I am just waiting to post them a little at a time. I figure should probably get the remainder of the Christmas pictures out of the way and then we will go from there.

These are all from Christmas Eve. We have the tradition of going over to Jake's parents house to celebrate and thankfully this year I didn't have to work so I was able to stay the entire time.

Fighting

These photos are a little old but I wanted to share anyway. It just shows that no matter how old, brothers are brothers and will fight even at such a young age.

Today they are 4 months old. It hardly seems possible that 4 months ago God blessed us with these little miracles...or that a year ago we didn't even know that they were coming!

They certainly have changed since birth. They each have gained exactly 9 pounds. Both are smiling at any interaction they can get. They've even found each other now. Noah is much more vocal..both when he is happy and upset. Jonah is much more laid back. Noah's motor skills seem a little better as he holds his head up better and for longer periods of time. Jonah slumps over a lot more. Both love to play with baby toys and can hold on to some of them. They are teething and drooling up a storm. And they LOVE their big brother! They just light up when they see him.

I am so thankful to have such a wonderful God given family. While it is a daily challenge at the end of the day I wouldn't change a thing. I am dealing with the dirt, dishes, toys, laundry etc...the boys won't be little forever and I'm going to enjoy them!

Well, Elijah made out like a bandit! Talk about toys!!! Lots of goodies including trains, Cars stuff, Toy Story stuff (even the movie), garbage trucks and police cars that make noises like the real thing, games...the list could go ON and ON!!!!

Elijah picked out a gift for Daddy. It's a snow globe that has Elijah's picture in it. Instead of winding up with music, you push a button and Elijah says "Merry Christmas Daddy, I love you!"

Jake got a nice spa robe....

and new boots that I hid under the boys' crib so he wouldn't guess what they were.

We had a nice Christmas. I was a little bummed though because I couldn't play with my new "toys" a gypsy for my cricut and Wheel of Fortune for the wii. Instead I was stuck napping so that I could go to work...boo. Oh well, someone has to take care of the sick babies.
