I am SIX!

My name is Elijah and I am six years old now. I am 46 inches tall and 49 lbs. I just went to the cardiologist and found out that things look GOOD. The hole in my heart is the same size that it was six months ago and the enlargement is the same BUT I'm BIGGER so it isn't effecting me as much! I don't have to go back for a YEAR now and we are hoping that we get even better news next time!
I am learning how to read. I can do it but get discouraged easily. I love "I can read" Lego books. Especially ones about Ninjago and Star Wars. I love Legos and playing ball with my dad. I love to support the Detroit Red Wings and The University of Michigan. I love to have fun!

Birthdays

Well, we always seem to have some exciting times in May with our anniversary, Mother's Day, Memorial Day, and Jake and Elijah's birthdays. This year was no different. On the day before Jake's birthday we were set to have a party when Noah spiked a high fever and Elijah nearly broke his nose. Seriously. The kid was running around the house and I just said "You need to cool it a bit" when he was in front of me crying and blood gushing from his nose. Apparently he fell straight on his face. Why he didn't try to break his fall with his hands we will never know. So we headed to urgent care only to be told that it probably wasn't broken, but he should have a CT scan. We settled for watching him for signs of concussion as Elijah was very upset. We did end up having to cancel the party and changed things around for the rest of the week resulting in more parties and more cake/cupcakes to celebrate.
Our favorite chocolate cake and the birthday boy.

Jake's Mango Lime Tarte.

Cupcake celebration with friends!

He got lots of cool legos!

Then a cousins sleepover on his birthday.

We made homemade pizza.

And had a zucchini cake. Shh. They still don't know I hid veggies in the cake!
Recipe can be found here.

We made Get Well Soon cards for Nannu because he was home mending from being in the hospital.

And of course more presents. He was a spoiled little guy. Days of cake, presents, AND a sleepover. LUCKY DUCK!
