Lil' Painters

In an effort to keep the boys busy with somewhat "controlled" messy play, I brought out the paints the other day and let them have at it! Elijah was very serious about his art. The twins...very messy. Surprised, right?

I think Jonah thought not only were we painting the table, but that paint is in fact some sort of food.

Noah did a little better. He at least didn't eat it and used a paintbrush.

Of course the twins needed a bath after all of this. We experimented with shaving cream, a mirror, and shaver this time. Wow. I know. Two cool things in one day. I'm an awesome mom...I know. I surprise myself sometimes.

McDonalds Treat

We had a big treat for the boys a few weeks ago (I know, I'm slow on blogging). McDonalds was giving out backpacks for kids and they happened to have some firefighters and a truck in the parking lot. We missed out on the backpacks (which was fine bc we didn't need them) but we got free happy meals and some time to explore a fire truck. Everyone was really nice to the boys and let them see everything.  

Jonah liked the hat and wanted to see everything, but mainly just clung to mommy.

Surprisingly Noah was most outgoing.

Movie Madness

This summer we took advantage of Harkin's Summer Movie Fun. For $6 each Elijah and I could go to the movies every Monday at 9:45 for 10 weeks. The twins were free. Bonus. For $12 plus $2 a week for 2 large sodas/powerade we had the ability to see 10 movies. Because I work every 3rd sunday (except 1) I missed a couple, but still...not bad. The first 3weeks were spent figuring out how to get the twins to sit down. Yeah, right. Then I got a little smarter and sat on the floor seats so that they couldn't go up and down the stairs. It was a challenge. But Elijah loved it. And next year should be easier. I think Elijah is a little bummed it's over. He keeps asking when we get to go to the movies again. Sorry buddy. I wish they had one day a week for $1 movies for kids that aren't in school yet. It would give us something to do that's not so expensive. Oh well. We are going to the library to get books and soon their toddler storytime starts up again.

Speaking of books, the boys are LOVING being read to now. It's a ritual. Naptime and bedtime we must read all the library books and then some of ours! I love it! This weeks favorite library book is Rhyming Dust Bunnies by Jan Thomas. It's 4 year old funny.  Elijah says it is the most hilarious book he has ever read. He literally rolls off the bed laughing. I'm not joking. The twins really liked Knuffle Bunny by Mo Williams. I feel like there are all these really good books I check out and then forget about. I need a place to make a list on my blog! Wouldn't that be neat? A weekly best book? If only I had a blogging following maybe I could get books sent to me to review. Ha ha! Wouldn't that be cool?

Motorcycle Madness

Well, it took 9 years but Jake finally convinced me he needed a motorcycle...and a Harley Davidson at that. He actually has had it for over a month. It's hot to ride right now but come winter it will be even more fun for him than it is now. I should add that his sister and dad also have one so they can go out cruising. 

The boys love it. Especially Noah. I should add that this was just a photo op. Elijah has not been on the bike. Also Jake rides in full gear even though helmets are not required here.

Keepin' Busy

Sometimes I think anyone who sees my house must question what I do all day. I mean, exactly HOW LONG does it take to do one load of laundry and wash the dishes. Well, my friend, come to my house and you will find out. Our land is filled with very busy little people and very few "quiet" moments. We have a lot of playtime, although I think Elijah would claim that I never, ever play with him...ever. He wants to play 24/7 so I guess what time I do have to play with him feels like never.

(Note the bandaid on the wrist. This is now the new thing at our house. Unfortunately for us, they fall off (or are pulled off) WAY too quickly. And of course, we have requests for Buzz Lightyear all the time. Gotta love it.

Gotta love pintrest. I found a yummy chicken marsala recipe. Mmmm. Mashed potatoes and corn. YUMMY!

I am on a baking kick and had to make my favorite chocolate bundt cake. I LOVE this cake. It was gone in no time. I want some more already. T-O  D-I-E  F-O-R  Seriously.
