Last Sunday Pics

Here's a posting of last Sunday's pictures. I think he always looks so different when he's sleeping. So serene and peaceful. When he's up he wants to see everything and play. It's funny because when people see him they think he should be doing more than he does because of how big he is. We've already had to move the straps in his car seat and he is now in size 3 diapers! It's hard to believe that he will be 4 months tomorrow. Time just flies. I am finally realizing though that he is still a baby even if he's big. He still is very young compared to the older babies that we know. I'm fine with that. We go to the doctor next week so I will post his stats then. Well, I guess I better go. I need to get some stuff done before I work tonight! Boo

More pictures of me! Mommy didn't get much sleep last night b/c I had terrible gas pains and a stuffy nose. I got to sleep with her..he hee. Sneaky aren't I? Then I decided after Daddy left that I should start puking too! I got Mommy's hair, her clothes...it even went around her neck, down her back and all over the pillow! I guess that'll teach Mommy not to have jambalaya rice and sausage for dinner! She wanted to sleep a little more since I was such a turkey last night. I guess I showed her who's boss! Well, I better go!

Photo Shoot

I've decided that the only downfall to being married to a photographer is having to pick what your favorite pictures are! On Saturday I slept because I had worked on Friday night and so Jake took the time to do a little photo shoot with Elijah. I had about 300 pictures to choose from! In the first picture Elijah is about to show off his new trick...rolling over! He can now get from his belly to his back without much difficulty. What a big boy! We also discovered in church yesterday (during prayer none the less!) that he can blow raspberries! What a sweetie pie! He absolutely loves attention from anyone...but especially mommy and daddy. He likes when we play "if your happy and you know it" or "5 little monkey". He absolutely LOVES funny voices. I bought him some puppets for Christmas because I figured he would love it if we did voices with him. I can't wait to give them to him. He's going to be so big by then! He's so fun to play with and see progress! I just love him! More pictures later!

An Uplifting Gift

I thought I would take a minute to share the beautiful flowers that Jake brought for me yesterday. Unfortunately you can't smell how fragrant they are or how truly beautiful and bright they are. I was a little down yesterday and they just made me feel so much better. It is very hard for me (and Jake!) because when I have good days then the bad days are so discouraging. I am just not used to this moodiness because I really have never experienced it before (at least not as an adult!) I am, however, very thankful to (pretty much) be over the sickness that came on (again!) on Sunday. I had to call in to work because not only did I feel awful but I also had a fever and didn't want to spread it. The bad thing is that I had to use the very last of my personal time. Oh well. There's nothing I could do about it. Well, I better get going and start the day. I've got a lot of things to get done!

Updates

My plans didn't go quite as well as I'd hoped. Wednesday was an absolutely awful day. I woke up feeling absolutely awful with a runny nose, headache, and a backache that was terrible. Jake told me to get an hour massage at the chiropractor and get adjusted...so I did. It felt really nice but unfortunately by that point my physical pain had affected me emotionally as well so I don't think I enjoyed it as much as I should have. Thankfully I felt better on Thursday so Jake's Mom came over and helped me get my house in order. It is now clean and hopefully will stay that way. I wasn't able to come up with a schedule yet but hopefully after this weekend (I work the next three days..sigh) I can get a daily routine planned.

I've been in such a rotten mood lately that I haven't really posted any new pictures. Here they are..I particularly like the one of Elijah smiling. What a cutie! He likes to suck on anything...his hands..our fingers...his toy...whatever he can get his hands on and in his mouth! He likes to play with Daddy and enjoys going around the house on his shoulders..a new outlook on things I guess. He especially likes to look in the mirror...and drool all over Daddy's hair...and of course pull it. Daddy doesn't mind too much though...he just loves his little guy.

I haven't posted our good deals lately either. Has anyone else found some great stuff at your stores? I've gotten GREAT deals on name brand clothes at our Marshalls. We've gotten pretty much anything you name..shirts, pants, belts, ties, underwear, pajamas, shoes...for $1-$10. Yes, we spent quite a bit but in the end we spent an average of $5 an item...and we're talking NICE items..like Johnston & Murphy shoes and Guess Jeans. Who can beat getting a tie for $2 or a Fossil belt for $3? I also found some good deals at Target....scrapbook stuff, a $60 Cephalon roasting pan for $15...crazy.

Anyway..I need to go..Elijah is upset. I did want to mention one more thing. Pray for Jake's cousin's Angela and Chad. They are expecting TWINS! She's already had a difficult pregnancy before and been on bedrest and felt terrible so expecting multiples may add a little more complication. I'm sure they would love the added prayers. I know I think of them often. Bye for now!

A Plan

I have not been doing too well lately. It seems like I am stuck in a big stockpot slicked with oil and every time I try to climb out I just fall back to the bottom. It is very hard to have been an organized person and find that now your life is in disarray. I think Jake may have realized the extent of it when I realized yesterday I was late in paying one of our bills. I have totally lost all control of the household. The only time I am actually somewhat happy is when I am out of the house. In the house I feel completely lost as though my hands are tied and I have no idea what to do. I want to gain control of things again and have asked Jake's mom for some help. We have a plan. She is going to help me a couple days this week cleaning the house to where it should be and we're going to work on ways to make my life a little easier. Meal plans, cleaning schedule...that sort of thing. I think it will really help to have her as an encouragement. Please just keep praying for me. And if you have a recipe for a meal that freezes well send it my way. It's very hard to make dinner on the days that I work 2 or 3 in a row.
I'll keep you posted on how it all works out!
