My Overall Long-Haired Boys

I just LOVE boys in overalls. They just look so...boy-ish.

My sweet Jonah. He sooo needs a haircut..but he's still so cute.

This is my boy. He is ME! Finally people actually say "He looks like you". And his eyes are still changing. So far they are still hazel..but with more brown in them.
My Elijah...with the dirty face. Always a dirty face. I can't wait to get my Norwex baby washcloths to clean his face better. I am hoping that they work!
And of course...in the pans again.

Other news. More teeth. Two for Noah (12 total) and two for Jonah (6 total).

And...Jake went skydiving. Yep. Mister "I will never go skydiving because who in their right mind jumps out of a perfectly good airplane" went skydiving on Saturday. Why? Well, his cousin, Steven, got engaged. And to ask his girlfriend, he took her skydiving. Of course, she said yes...and so now in March we get to go to a wedding...in Arizona! No way! Yippie!  Anyway, back to the jump. Did Jake like it? Well, he had a little cold so the pressure was a little much for him...and cold as well, so he wants to do it again. Hopefully next time he can go with me seeing as I'm the one who wanted to go in the first place.
TTFN!

Yummy :)

Jake bought me these pretty double tulips the other day. Pretty, huh? Thanks sweetie.

I made this little car caddy for Elijah for Christmas. He always wants to bring cars wherever we go. One car turns into two...three...four. The other day we had to bring Luigi too bc he already packed Guido and they work together so of course...hmmm...lawyer here? Politician?

Onto the YUMMY goodies I made today...for tomorrow of course. I work so we are going to Jake's parents house and I had the pleasure of bringing the deserts. My first yummy....a cranberry upside down cake. Mmmmmm.
My second yummy...a given...pumpkin pie...and cool whip of course.
And this was my failed attempt at making turkey candy/cookie yummies. Oh well...they kinda look like turkeys. I ended up making little pilgrim hats..and chocolate fudge. Where the fudge came in I don't know but the recipe was on the evaporated milk and so I couldn't help myself.
That's all for now...other than I HOPE HOPE HOPE I am not getting sick. I was fine until I was done making the food (don't worry, I washed and sanitized often...I have to when I am making food for others...I'm just overly self conscious about) and then all of a sudden I had a horrible sore throat. It's red and my tonsils are swollen...so much I can feel them down my throat (ok, I'm sorry for the nitty gritty but seriously..ouch!) Now I ache all over, have sore eyes, headache and low fever. You have GOT to be kidding me! I was just sick a week and a half ago! I work tomorrow...and really can't call in...frowned on with the holiday...and considering I JUST WAS SICK AND ALREADY CALLED IN!!!! Augh...is there a well fairy? Come on...she'd have to do well this season. I'm sure enough people are sick. Well, off to take some theraflu...hoping that helps. My kitchen floor is calling to me...and it will get ignored...yet again...and probably again

I can't believe I won!

For those of you who may not know for the past several months I have been spending some "free time" (I use this term loosely as we all know there really is no such thing) entering online contests. This equates to lunch time, time spent in the car (while someone else is driving) etc. Well, sometimes I can get 20-40 contests entered a day. Never have I won. Except for the skittles wrapper that was actually Jake's...that doesn't count..and it was for a pack of skittles. Anyway. Maybe my luck fortune has changed.
I actually won something.
Now don't get all excited. I didn't win a bunch of money to quit my job, a car that actually can fit us all, or even some useful household product like a cast iron skillet. Nope. I won a coupon for a free container of half and half. Not just any half and half. Organic half and half. Oh my. That's worth...I don't know..4 bucks? Oh well. At least it's something. Next on my list to win...a trip to Disney World, a new (larger) vehicle, and some money to pay off all our bills. Hey...one can dream, right?

Red Wings Fans

Here's some pictures I took the other day...obviously before Noah hurt his hand.
My little Red Wing fans. :)

My poor little ones are all sick...runny noses and coughing. Yucky. First cold of the season. They were up a few times last night. Noah slept in though until 9:30 *GASP* I couldn't believe it. I had to make sure he was breathing! Jonah, my little piggy, fell asleep while he was eating lunch.  I hope they get better soon!

I can't believe it is almost Thanksgiving! Crazy! Now I gotta get into gear. I am soooo far behind. We are trying to get things together but something always happens. It gets a little discouraging. Last week we had a yardsale, went to IKEA and bought Elijah a NEW bed. Yep. He has a BIG BOY bed. It's a loft bed and he LOVES it. His room was cool before...but now...it's AWESOME! I tell you, the boy is ahead of his time. Anyway. We bought a dresser for the boys as well bc theirs was way to small for all their stuff. It started to get put together Sunday..and it accidentally got broken....lets just say Sunday turned into a bad day. So now unfortunately, they are living out of laundry baskets. Oh well, I guess things happen. I desperately need to get organized and wish that one of those cable shows would magically show up at my house. SURPRISE! It's hard because with working, the second I feel like I'm starting to get caught up...it all comes crashing down again. Sigh.

Well, I have to good things today. I opened up a box of ginger cookies I had bought at IKEA...amazingly good. On top of that, a happy surprise, my friend Julia brought me over an iced gingerbread latte from Starbucks. Yummy :)  In case you didn't know, Starbucks holiday flavors are BOGO from 2-5pm until the 20th. SWEET! Thanks Julia!

So my last thing. I thought I would share a couple blogs/websites.
If you have any cool recipe or craft websites feel free to share. I love ideas for things...even if I probably will never have time to make the things that catch my eye.

And Into Everything!

Just one of the many things my boys like to get into....cabinets!

Mobile Now

As you could figure from my Mama Guilt post, the boys are MOBILE! YIKES! Noah is walking EVERYWHERE and getting into EVERYTHING. Books off the shelf. Pans out of the cabinet. You name it, he's into it. Jonah, well, he is walking a lot more, but not full-blown everywhere. He can, however, crawl just as fast. No more army crawl for him..it's all fours and he is bound and determined to get into the goods. His favorite is the bookshelf. The kid just LOVES books. Music too. Maybe he will be the smart one....
Don't let them fool you...they're not innocent.
Noah overboard...and onto the couch.
Yeah, I'm cool. You can't pen me in anymore, I'll just crawl over the couch. How long do you think it'll take me? NOT LONG!
Hey, where did brother go? I haven't mastered the over the chair thing...but I can stand. Check me out.
My little imps. Into everything.
Elijah...well...he just says...MOOOMMM...GET THEM!!! THEY'RE GETTING MY CARS!

Mamma Guilt

This weekend was a bad weekend for Noah. Mamma too. It was our first trip to urgent care for injury instead of illness. Here's the nitty gritty.

I had gone to Walmart after church with the boys to get something to make for dinner. I was feeling like we needed something a little special so I had picked out some steaks and fresh and warm French bread to make    a yummy treat. That in and of itself was a battle because the boys were hungry and Elijah was whining for something to drink. Have I ever mentioned how much I HATE whining? Just saying... Anyways. So I got home and took Noah out of his seat first. Since he can walk now I just took him out and set him next to the car while I grabbed the diaper bag. All of a sudden I hear this SCREAMING and look over to see Noah's hand in between the wheel of the tire. I thought maybe it was stuck but when I pulled it out it was flaming red and blistered. He burned it on the rotors/brakes! I immediately rinsed it in cool water and put some burn spray on it but could tell it was not helping. Jake got the other boys and groceries out and I headed for urgent care. They got him in right away and gave him some ibuprofen and let him play in cold water...which he was not up for. Basically he screamed at the top of his lungs including that awful lip quiver and shaking for 45 minutes until the medicine kicked in AND they got some silvadene cream on it. He has to keep it bandaged until it heals. The hard part...he sucks the thumb on that hand. I figured out a sock taped around to his long sleeved shirt helps keep him from picking at it.

These are the pictures from today. The blister on his thumb broke open but the others are still intact. Sorry the second picture isn't that great. Try to get him to stay still!

Try to Find Elijah in this Video

Ok, so he's not REALLY in the video but as I watched it I found compelled to believe my son would be the very last little boy on this clip.  He just seems so close to Elijah's all-knowing personality. I know, maybe not so nice to tell your kids you ate their halloween candy but it still was funny.
