On Any Given Day...

On any given day I find random things in places that they don't belong. I feel like going back to my Sesame Street days and singing
"One of these things is not like the others,
One of these things just doesn't belong
Can you tell which things is not like the others
By the time I finish my song?"

Ok. So maybe it's MORE than one thing at times...

Like here.
Do you want to tell me why I have 2 pillows and sleepy children lying on my nasty dirty kitchen floor? 'Cause I sure don't know the answer to that.

Speaking of Sesame Street...
One of my favorite shows growing up was Mr Rogers Neighborhood. Thanks to wonderful technology we now have access to Amazon Prime Streaming of movies and tv shows and what did I find available? Mr Rogers Neighborhood!!! Now the boys watch it...and LOVE it.
Elijah talks to him. I forgot that Mr Rogers asks questions. The other day Elijah told him he was going to get a swingset too. I felt bad...poor kid will never get a swingset because now our HOA won't allow it. How dumb is that?

New topic.

PINTEREST!

Who loves it? I DO! I DO!

Pinterest help you find cool recipes like homemade "corndog" muffins.

Then you can make cool lunches like this for your crazy boys.

At first Elijah said "EWE! I'm not eating that!" Then he realized he was being silly and devoured the whole thing. Yummy! (see in the background..more pinterest goodies...paint in a ziplock bag and you "paint" with a q-tip. NO MESS!!! Love it!)

Here's one of those "random" things I found. What in the world is he doing on the table?

Another pinterest find. Homemade edible playdough. Since the boys are known for stuffing things in their mouths (so unlike Elijah) I figured this would be the best option for them.

Elijah and Jonah loved it.

BUT

Of course Noah is unhappy. He's alway unhappy. Crazy kid.

Happy 4th Birthday!

I cannot believe it. I really can't. My little baby. My first born. He is now officially 4 years old!  It seems like only yesterday we were driving to the hospital eagerly awaiting the arrival of our precious little boy. Now he is FOUR!!

Of course, what happened? He got SICK!!! No birthday party to celebrate. No games. No guests. Just us.
And of course a cake.

And presents.

I made some sandwiches from a recipe off pinterest (love that site). They are ham and swiss sandwiches made with Hawaiian rolls. I thought they were yummy. We had baked beans and chips and salsa. Again. Yummy.

Here he is with his cake. It was my attempt to make something cool, but like always, I failed miserably. I tried to make red icing but I got yelled at by Elijah because he wanted it to be pink. The topper was the coolest part of the cake. It is a squinkee toy that holds all his Cars 2 squinkees and spits them out like gumballs. It was originally $25. WAAAYYY too much. Then it went on clearance at Walmart for $20. Still too much. So, months later AND the day before his birthday I checked again. Jackpot. It had a sticker on it for $5.96. It rang up for $15 but they honored the sticker price. SOOOO the coolest thing about the cake was that it cost me $10 with the cake mix/icing instead of $15 for a storebought cake WITHOUT a toy. The only bad part was that it was NOT my best cake. Jake's Coldstone cake trumped it for sure!

Noah liked it though. Mmmm..

Jonah did too. Now he is quite smart and has realized that birthday=cake.
Notice the birthday boy. Can you tell he does NOT feel well?

He was still a happy birthday boy though.

The little boys got so messy that they had to get a bath before presents. Noah LOVES baths. One whisper of the word and he jumps up and down saying "bah, bah" and signing please. SO CUTE!

Present time! LOTS OF CARS 2 STUFF!!!!

YAY!!! Happy BIRTHDAY!!!

Happy 3-0!

I am a little late on posting things. We've been sick. Again. Lucky us right?
I missed out on blogging about my wonderful hubby's 30th Birthday!
Here's some of the highlights.

I was supposed to work on his actual birthday (birthdays falling on a holiday weekend just don't fly well when you are in the nursing profession) but my friend Julia swapped days with me. *THANK YOU*

So before I knew I had his actual birthday off I had planned a little surprise dinner and comedy show on Friday night. It turned out quite nicely and we all had a good time. Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures of the momentous occasion. Oh well.

On his actual birthday I had his family over for dinner and Coldstone icecream cake. Yummy.

The words were smudged while in the freezer. Bummer. It still tasted good though.

Happy 30th Jake! I look forward to spending many more birthdays and fun times with you!
