Mmm Mmmm Cookie Monsters :)

There is just something about homemade cookies. They just make your day brighter. I decided to make some of my FAVORITE cookies the other day and the boys LOVED it.

I think the grin just makes the day even brighter don't you?

Oatmeal Chip Cookies

1c shortening

1c granulated sugar

1c brown sugar

2 eggs

2c rolled oats (I use a little bit less)

1 tsp vanilla

2c flou

1tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp salt

1 pkg chocolate chips

Cream shortening, granulated sugar and brown sugar. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Sift together flour, soda, baking powder and salt and add to creamed mixture. Stir in rolled oats and chocolate chips. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto a cookie sheet.  Bake 10min at 400 degrees. Makes 6 dozen.

It's Monsoon Time

One thing about living in the desert that it rarely rains...that is until monsoon season. That being said I like to give the boys an oportunity to play in the rain whenever I can.

In this case, it started raining when the boys first woke up so I quickly got them outside despite the pajamas and soggy diapers.

They had a lot of fun squealing in delight.
