A Return to the Beach

Elijah begged and begged to go to the beach. We got there at sunset and it was FREEZING so I stayed on the boardwalk with the twins. Elijah didn't seem to mind the cold and Jake took full advantage of the photo opportunity.

I think these are "Grandma" pictures. What do you think? I love them. Thanks Jake :)

The USS Midway

Well, we were all set to pull out on Sunday night when we just became very sad realizing we didn't get to do all the things we had hoped to as a family. We had wanted to go back to the beach and go to see the aircraft carrier the USS Midway...so because Jake already had taken Monday off we made a last minute decision to stay an extra night. Jake found a place to stay online, the Dolphin Motel, that was inexpensive but had good ratings so we booked it.  They had a nice continental breakfast and were very clean so we were happy and would probably stay again to save the $70 a night.

Here we are on the Midway

I think we found a happy place :)

In the ship

After we were done with the ship (I say that loosely as we didn't finish seeing everything but were getting hungry and it was getting late) we went next door to the Fish Market.

On our trip over we got a nice picture of Daddy and Elijah.

Someone's sleepy

He also didn't want to sit in his high chair so I held him...and he helped himself to my food!

I told you they were tired!

After this we were on to the beach...then home..what a day!

Natalie and Stephen

Of course the whole reason that we came to San Diego was for Stephen and Natalie's wedding so it is only fitting to post the beautiful pictures right? Actually I don't think beautiful describes the wedding best. Exquisite? Gorgeous?
They were married at Paradise Point, just off of Mission Bay. Breathtaking view for sure.

Uncle James and Aunt Andrea

Dad and Mom

The beautiful couple exchanging vows.

Jennifer, Jake's cousin Matt's wife, and their cutie-pie son, Alex.

A rare photo of Jake and I "together" and actually looking nice (aka no food, puke, or other bodily substances located anywhere on our bodies/clothing/hair).

Mom enjoying yummy appetizers after the wedding while waiting for the reception to start.

Beautiful Jessica. In the background you can see James and Andrea admiring the placecards. They had special Jones Soda made with their picture on it. Way cool idea...and thirst quenching too!

Our view

Having fun

This is how fun the bride and groom are. I guess it's only fitting when Natalie is a Navy gal and Steve a Navy Seal. They came in for the reception with a fun-loving dance as well.

Doug toasting the happy couple

Awe, Steve is so in love with this girl. Look at that grin.

Uncle Paul and Alex. Poor Jennifer didn't get to enjoy much of the reception as Alex thought that it was too loud.

Sending off the happy couple. Sparklers. How cool is that idea. One word of caution. Don't give drunk people sparklers. I overheard one gal say, "Do these go out on their own? What do I do with it." Are you KIDDING me? Yeah, I stayed far away from her.
