I am very blessed

I haven't really posted anything about some of the blessings I have received lately. Number one that happened today our air conditioning went out once again and once again I turned it off prayed like no other that God would fix it...and He did. Again!Praise the Lord as it is 110 degrees outside. I am so thankful! This happens a lot and each time He fixes it.

Another small blessing...I had liked a diaper bag by Skip Hop (a stroller bag really) that was rated really well but was $40. I couldn't justify it so I didn't buy it. BUT I found it, like new, at Saalvation Army for $2. Cool huh?

To laugh or cry...that is the question

Sometimes this so-called-life of mine is just so curious to me. I am not quite sure whether I should be laughing hysterically or crying ballistically. I am extremely moody and stressed and think my hormones have turned me into a crazy 13 year old girl. Everything is overwhelming. I either burst into tears or complain/yell at the dumbest things. Exhaustion hits in at the drop of a hat.  I am SO OVER IT! I don't know what to do. I feel like a failure as a wife and mother. My house is not just a mess, it's dirty...really dirty. I feel like I don't every REALLY get to play with my kids the way that I want to because I constantly find things that need to be done just to keep afloat on the laundry/grocery shopping/etc. A woman's house is a reflection of her and mine is TERRIBLE! Not only is it dirty, but so many things are broken (like the closet door that then fell over to chip our bathroom cabinet, dent the floor, and bust the drawer). Our yard is STILL not done after 6 1/2 years and only consists of a fire hazard pile of tree limbs that need to be taken care of. We have a lot of things we would LIKE to get done but don't because no matter how hard we try we find something else to do (like sleep...imagine that).

I suppose I need to take a step back and look at the amusing things that occur in my life. Unfortunately, they don't always seem amusing to me. Example:

It's 9am. I've already been up for 3 hrs because one of my crazy beautiful children decided that they were awake and didn't want to sleep ANYmore. We have all eaten breakfast (including cheerios and bananas which now have added themselves to the "collection" found on my kitchen floor) and the boys are in the tub. After scrubbing everyone somewhat clean I take Noah out, dry him and set him on the floor all while not taking my eyes off the tub. I grab Jonah out, turn around and start to dry him when I notice that Noah is now on his belly with something...hanging...wait...NO! It's POOP! AUGH!!! Poop on the floor...and he's moving all over! The kid rarely moves and he has decided that it is time to kick it in gear when he has poop smooshed on his tush? Seriously? So I throw put Jonah down and turn to get the poop that is now smooshed into Noah's lil' bum the whole time thinking, "I gotta get this poop off the floor before Jonah gets the taste of "chocolate". I get a diaper on Noah and turn to get Mr Houdini himself just as Elijah yells "POOP! Mom, POOP! Jonah's got POOP!" You have GOT to be kidding me! Now, Noah is my pooper. He has pooped IN THE BATHTUB three, 3, yes, THREE times in the last two weeks. Jonah...never had a problem. Well, that changed as I ran to get the mushy, brown glob from his bottom. Of course, by this point pieces have come onto the floor and he's reaching for it as I am yelling "NOOOO!" It's slow motion and by the time I get to him I am SO INCREDIBLY thankful he doesn't have it in his hands and mouth. I clean him up, put a diaper on, and RUSH to clean the floor before more damage occurs. Enough to get me frazzled for the day, that's for sure.

Then of course there was two nights ago when Noah figured out how to pull himself into a sitting position in the middle of the night and got "stuck". He didn't know what to do and just let out a wail. He had a drippy, runny nose (when aren't my kids sick?) so I brought him to our room, sucked out his nose and nursed him thinking he'd go to bed with us easier than his crib. He tossed and turned, barely able to breath. Slept minimally and then at 430/5 decided, hey, party in Mom and Dad's bedroom. He was UP...smiles, coos, "pay attention to me". Augh! Drive me crazy. But he was stinkin' cute...just not that early.

I guess I just need to pay attention to the humor that can be found somewhere....

Quick Post

Just a quick post. Elijah said something that made me giggle yesterday. He saw the Target ad out and said "Woah! Thanks Momma for getting me this Cars II magazine." He then procedeed to look through it drooling over the pages. A few minutes later he taps me on the leg and says, "Mere (come here) Momma, I wanna show you somethin. It's a BIIIKKKEEE...with CARS II!" He was so cute about it! Gotta learn how to ride your trike fist buddy!

We Are Mobile!

Well, Jonah is anyway! He is not on all fours when he crawls, however. Instead, he has resorted to scooting. It's not quite an army crawl. From above it looks like a little froggy swimming in the water. He scoots around EVERYWHERE and of course, gets into trouble mischief while doing so. His favorite thing is to get into the DVD player. After Jake found him under the kitchen table eating nasty cheerios stuck to our disgusting floor we are now the proud owners of an octagonal jail gate. Of course, the two are not too fond of it and Jake, Elijah and I can often be found rounded up in the contraption as well. It doesn't matter how many cool toys are in there, having a playmate that can actually speak recognizable words is obviously more desirable.

Jonah has mastered a few more tricks as well. He can push himself to a sitting position from crawling and can (sometimes) wave and say hi. At least that's what it looks/sounds like to me. Really, his only other word is DaDa. Dadadadadadadadadada...all the time. And of course balsdfkgjasldasd. What that is...I have no idea. Apparently Noah does because he often bops him on the head, pushes him over, or bites him when Jonah "talks" to him. Seeing as I'm unsure of the conversation I'm not quite sure who is in the wrong {ha ha ha}.

Noah. Well. He's Noah. He's either hot or cold. Smiling or crying. Not nearly as content as his brother but he sure can dish out the biggest smiles! And what a smile it is! Full of TEETH! After checking several times daily I found yet ANOTHER tooth yesterday. That puts his count up to SIX! Poor Jonah. He is very behind in this aspect. It doesn't keep him from eating any of the goodies that Noah does but it does put him a step behind in the boxing ring. I guess he has the advantage that he can scoot away when he tires of the fight.

Do they really fight you ask...YES! They fight over toys, spoons, food...if there's only one item...it's up for grabs. Hey, even when there is two they STILL fight. Example..I give them each a spoon to hold/chew on while I feed them. EVERY TIME someone has to take the spoon from someone else. Really? You have one of your own! Augh...I can see where this is going...lots of Mommas to be heard in the future! Yikes! I'm changing my name!

I can't just post a video of Jonah without one of Noah too...so here it is. A video of Mr. Fussypants himself.

Hope you enjoyed the videos. Now that I know how to post them I hopefully will be doing so more often.

You have GOT to be kidding!

I have been TERRIBLE about blogging. I have been waiting and waiting to post some pictures...and it's just not happening. Call me crazy but I have been entirely too busy lately. With what? Here are some highlights that I hope to later elaborate on.

May 16th- Our EIGHTH wedding anniversary. I cannot believe it! I'm so grateful for the time spent with my very best friend. We celebrated quietly at home with a homemade pasta dinner.

May 20th- A much needed 2 night trip to Scottsdale for some REST by the pool.

May 26th- Jake's birthday! To Lucky's for sushi and Chinese.

May 30th- Elijah's THIRD birthday! Celebrated with a sleepover with cousins and hotdogs/hamburgers on the grill.

Phew...what a month! To add to this I FINALLY got Elijah's cardiac catheterization scheduled for July 6th...only to be called this Tuesday to change it to THIS FRIDAY! Wow! I spent Wednesday morning running around for things like a backpack, some coloring books, videos to watch (since he has to be quiet for a couple days after) and other misc. goodies only to have to CANCEL the surgery. Why? Well, on Sunday and Monday the little boys had a fever. By Tuesday night Noah's fever was 103.4. Good thing I already had a doctor's appointment scheduled. Really good thing. We found the culprit. STREP THROAT! You have to be kidding me! So we hoped that Elijah would not get it. No such luck! He spiked a fever Wednesday night and so I took him to the doctor for a rapid strep test on Thursday morning and...strep. Ick! We got meds for Jonah too...the boys share spoons and suck on each others hands for goodness sake...glad the PA thought ahead. So now we go back to our original date of July 6th. I am hoping now that I have time I can get a couple books on going to the hospital as Walmart, Target, and the local library didn't have anything.

So add to the chaos...on the way to work Thursday my car's check engine light pops on and the engine starts sputtering. You have GOT to be KIDDING ME! Almost six months of not having a car and it does it AGAIN! I'm so upset! I just want a working, reliable car...preferably one that would fit us all a little more comfortably...we're starting to get squished.
