Oliver's First Birthday

It's amazing how a year can fly by. It seems like just yesterday I was cradling my little 8lb 12oz bundle of joy. Now I have a crawling all around, busy, busy 20lb bundle of energy.

Isn't he cute?

I went with a Cookie Monster theme. Easier to decorate, ha ha.

He likes cookies!

Happy Birthday, Buddy!

Jonah and Noah Turn 6

My little twinnies are SIX! Wowza!

I was going for a lego head...didn't quite turn out.

Noah wanted Paw Patrol...I did the best I could. I am not a good decorator...but the cake was delicious!

He was getting ready for his upcoming birthday.

Happy Birthday to Jonah and Noah

It is so hard to believe that these two are now five years old! It is amazing to think about. Unfortunately, they missed the kindergarten cutoff by 3 days, but that just gives them some more time to mature. I wish I was a little more organized to do more things with them at home. Hopefully, things will settle down and we can get into a routine after the baby is born.

One of the things that they really wanted to do, was go to the park. Well, it's 100+ degrees so we had to settle for going at 8am after we dropped Elijah off at school. At least it was only 90degrees. Augh! I am not fond of the heat!

Aren't my boys cute?!

I feel a bit guilty, but even though five is a big birthday milestone, we just did a very low key birthday. I just made cupcakes and we picked up a pizza and wings and had Gaga and Papa over. Being 36 weeks pregnant and constantly contracting does not equal wanting to have a big party. But there was cupcakes and presents so I think the boys were still happy.

Happy Birthday boys! I can't believe how big that they are getting!

Elijah's 7th Birthday

Happy 7th Birthday to Elijah! We celebrated with his cousins on the day before because we would be gone to ComiCon. I think he had fun.

I am SIX!

My name is Elijah and I am six years old now. I am 46 inches tall and 49 lbs. I just went to the cardiologist and found out that things look GOOD. The hole in my heart is the same size that it was six months ago and the enlargement is the same BUT I'm BIGGER so it isn't effecting me as much! I don't have to go back for a YEAR now and we are hoping that we get even better news next time!
I am learning how to read. I can do it but get discouraged easily. I love "I can read" Lego books. Especially ones about Ninjago and Star Wars. I love Legos and playing ball with my dad. I love to support the Detroit Red Wings and The University of Michigan. I love to have fun!

Birthdays

Well, we always seem to have some exciting times in May with our anniversary, Mother's Day, Memorial Day, and Jake and Elijah's birthdays. This year was no different. On the day before Jake's birthday we were set to have a party when Noah spiked a high fever and Elijah nearly broke his nose. Seriously. The kid was running around the house and I just said "You need to cool it a bit" when he was in front of me crying and blood gushing from his nose. Apparently he fell straight on his face. Why he didn't try to break his fall with his hands we will never know. So we headed to urgent care only to be told that it probably wasn't broken, but he should have a CT scan. We settled for watching him for signs of concussion as Elijah was very upset. We did end up having to cancel the party and changed things around for the rest of the week resulting in more parties and more cake/cupcakes to celebrate.
Our favorite chocolate cake and the birthday boy.

Jake's Mango Lime Tarte.

Cupcake celebration with friends!

He got lots of cool legos!

Then a cousins sleepover on his birthday.

We made homemade pizza.

And had a zucchini cake. Shh. They still don't know I hid veggies in the cake!
Recipe can be found here.

We made Get Well Soon cards for Nannu because he was home mending from being in the hospital.

And of course more presents. He was a spoiled little guy. Days of cake, presents, AND a sleepover. LUCKY DUCK!
