We were able to go back home to see our family in Michigan this past week. Jake's Nanna and Nannu celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary and so when the opportunity arose to share in their special occasion, we jumped at it.
I'd like to say that our trip was amazing. It was...to an extent. It was wonderful to spend time with everyone we love, get out of the 120 degree heat, and see greenery for once. Unfortunately, an unplanned stop in New Mexico to take Jake to the ER for food poisoning, driving straight through from New Mexico to Chicago, hitting a pothole that caused our car to be undriveable for nearly a week (although Uncle Vic helped us out immensely with that problem) and a case of questionable pinkeye and some type of allergy that sent us to urgent care at 10pm with Jonah (let's face it, no one wants a whole family to be struck with pinkeye when they have to travel 2,000 miles to go home).
Anyway. We have misplaced Jake's card reader so until we find it, here are a few pictures taken with my camera.
Here the boys are goofing around on the deck when we saw Uncle Bryan in Chicago.
Here the boys experienced creamcicles in Millenium Park.
Making wishes in the garden!
Having fun with Grandpa. Noah really liked attempting to play the instruments.
Meeting a chipmunk for the first time.
Bees! We took them to Kensington Metropark. They lived the nature center, farm, and beach!
We spent Saturday celebrating Jakes Nanna and Nannu's 60th anniversary. Jonah found a fast friend! He was super excited.
Going through the sprinkler!
At the Detroit Zoo!
We do have more awesome pictures. Hopefully I can share them soon!
