Misc. Updates

We have a sad little man in our house right now. He is sick with a bad ear infection and WOW is he cranky. I don't think I have seen him this sick since he had hand, foot and mouth almost a year ago. We kept him in our room on Thursday night and he would wake up and just cry and we couldn't do anything to comfort him. He had a 103.6 fever that Tylenol and Ibuprofen didn't keep down for long. Thankfully we were able to get into the doctor and get some medicine. He did not like the doctor at all! Especially since his ear was so sensitive and the dr had to look in it. He LOVED the sucker he got afterwards though and even became a little more talkative. I think the meds are starting to work because he is starting to play for longer periods of time again. Poor little man. It's terrible when your kids are sick! To think I may have 3 of them at once...I can't think about that anymore...I'm already imagining ripping my hair out!

I went for my second OB appointment Thursday morning (first one since we found out the twin news). I felt a little bad because I think I surprised my OB a little. He came in and asked if I was starting to be less fatigued and sick. When I said, no, not really, he said oh, you're 10 5/7 so it should go away soon. Then he proceded to say we should be able to hear the heartbeat today. My response was, heartbeatS hopefully. My response was a look of, oh no, she's having twins, and did I know this? Apparently, though my ultrasound was sent to their office, it was incorrectly filed and so he had glanced at it and knew that one of his patients was having twins, he just didn't know it was me. He then tried to find my report in the abyss of memory in his computer to no avail. They ended up having to get the report refaxed. To my disappointment we did not listen to heartbeats because he said even though you can hear a singleton heartbeat now, twins often hide and he didn't want us to hear one and not the other and then get worried something was wrong. Instead I get to have another ultrasound this week and come back to the office next Thursday. He did give me all the what to expects for twin pregnancy and the frequency of office visits, ultrasounds, and then later, non-stress tests and biophysical profiles. It made me exhausted thinking about it...especially knowing that I have to drive 45 minutes there and back for each appointment in the middle of 115 degree weather all while being (probably) the size of a boat, or at the least a very large Cadillac. I feel like I will already know the little peanuts with the frequency of ultrasounds we will have..once a month until 32 weeks then more than likely weekly. Wow.
Anywho. I better get going.

Wow I'm suprised that toward the end they'd have you drive so much... Maybe you could camp out at the doctors office when you get further along... J.k.

At least you will know your pregnancy will be well monitored.

Thinking of you!
