We told Elijah we would bring him back a "prize". His response "I hope it's a dinosaur." Needless to say we stopped in the museum gift shop to buy him one. Thankfully they didn't make us pay admission to do so.

Here's to 7 1/2 years of marriage...surviving a 2 1/2 year old and 6 week old twins!



jake's cousin Steve and his girlfriend Stacey. He graduated from the Navy Seals that week and so we were able to visit and go out to eat yummy Mexican food and desserts



Shamrock Farms

Ok. So I am WAAAYYY behind on some postings. I had downloaded some pictures awhile back and just not written or posted anything so I thought maybe I should just go ahead and post before I get too far behind. I have a lot of current info to post so HOPEFULLY I can do that soon.

Here are some pictures of the outing at Shamrock Farms.

He had a fun time in the snow and visiting the cows. He tells us he wants to go to the farm again and is now on a kick where he asks us what time it is and then finds out what the cows would be doing now.

Ex. It's dusk. Elijah: Cows sleeping? Us: No, the cows are getting their jammies on and brushing their teeth.

It's dark: Elijah: Cows awake? Us: No, it's night-night time. Cows are sleeping.

For my Beautiful Mom

Dear Mom,
In times past I have selfishly viewed my birthday as something all about me. Now that I have three blessings of my own and have had the opportunity to go through the "Birth Day" process twice I have decided that maybe MY birthday is actually a little more meaningul to you. While God gave Eve the duty of child bearing as a curse for her sin and labor pains are most definitely pains, my personal experience giving birth to your precious grandsons was something that I will never forget. I only hope that my birthday blessed you in the same way. That though I'm sure you experienced a tremendous amount of pain and discomfort that you somehow don't really quite remember that quite so vividly but instead remember what it felt like the first time you saw my face. Seeing Elijah, Jonah, and Noah for the first time was breathtaking. Was it that way for you?  I realized last night that I have never actually asked you how YOU felt on my birthday. When you first saw my bald little head did you cry? Smile? Laugh? Did they put me on your chest right away or take me and clean and wrap me first? What did it feel like to hold me for the first time? Did you and Dad smother me with kisses? Was the utter exhaustion worth it? I know you weren't expecting me for another few weeks...was I a pleasant surprise? I am sorry my early appearance made you miss your baby shower. That was your time to glow and enjoy yourself. Instead you traded it for cuddling your new baby daughter close to you to feed and burp and change stinky diapers all while having to smell the strong aroma of spices and Lord know what else from your roommate's visitors. If only you were able to experience single patient rooms like I did.... I remember feeling overwhelmed with wonderful emotions after having my children although even though my experiences were not so long ago I can't exactly pinpoint them. In any event, I hope that after 31 years at least one word can be used to describe the events that took place on that February 5th...amazing.

I love you Mom (and Dad) and thank you so much for being wonderful parents. I hope you consider this day all those many years ago to be one of the best days of your life. Although I cannot possibly remember all that went on, I know I do.

Swimming

No, we were not swimming recently. Again...old picture but wasn't he having fun? Had to share.

Anyway. We are still sick here. I have little voice and a nasty cough. Elijah and Jake  have colds. The little boys are quite sick, especially Jonah. I took him to urgent care yesterday and was started on breathing treatments because he has been wheezing.  I was told to come back in the morning and because he is still wheezing so today he was started onn some steroids and antibiotics just in case. The doctor said if its RSV we're doing the most we can do so why test for it. The antibiotics are just in case it happens to be strep because he has a rash on his face or double pnemonia since he sounds "junky" on both sides of his lungs. Augh! I hope he feels better soon. Now Noah is getting worse. It's hard bc they were both up all night and  I don't feel well myself. I hope this sickness is done by the end of the week!

sink bath

We have been giving the boys baths in the sink bc it's just easier. Well Elijah decided he wanted one too. Look how big he is! I can't believe it!

More updates...we're all sick. Everyone has the bug...and it's not nice. Now I realize how icky it is to be a Mommy and be sick. Wasn't so bad with just Elijah but with the 3...yucky! When do I get to heal? I guess I'll survive. It makes me more appreciative of all my Mom did for me. Love ya Mom!
