Foster Freddy

The weekend of the Fourth of July we found a little dog that needed some help. He was extremely friendly but his fur was in desperate need of care and he was hungry and thirsty. We cut some of the matting out of his fur and then ended up taking him in to be groomed. It was so bad it had pulled on his skin. We also listed him on some local sites as found. To be honest, we thought he had been lost for awhile because of his condition.

Here he is after cutting the matting out and giving him a bath. 

We found a groomer in town that was open on Sundays. We had to stop at Petsmart first to get a collar and leash. Here he is on the way home from the groomers.

Molly was not super fond of him (we nicknamed him Freddy) so I had read somewhere that it helps to walk dogs together as well as take them to the park...so that's what I did. Look how skinny he was once he was groomed.

Freddy sure liked to play fetch. 

Ollie liked to watch them.

Well. The 5th was a sad day because we found Freddy's owner. He was actually Osito and was owned by an 18 year old girl that, unfortunately, did not understand the importance of keeping a dog like Osito groomed. I talked to her about it and let her know that if she ever felt that she couldn't care for him anymore that we would be more than happy to purchase him from her. He was a very good dog. Everyone is sad. She did say the kids could take him to the park if they ever wanted to see him more. That was nice.

Wait, who is that?

After Oliver's 9 month doctor appointment, I wanted to compare where he is with all of the other kiddos so I was looking on my blog and Facebook. I cannot believe how much Elijah and Oliver look alike!

Oliver is 1 1/2 inches taller than all of the other boys at this time. He has more teeth! Elijah just barely was working on #6 and Oliver has 7. Noah had 6 and Jonah...poor Jonah had zero. Oliver is also 2 lbs less than Elijah was...I'm super surprised at that. All of the other boys had just started crawling at this stage. Oliver is not really interested.He gets around by going on his back, pushing himself up with his feet and then rolling back onto his belly. He is trying to sit up, but has not mastered that. He likes to eat, but only if he can feed himself or nurse. He has not taken to a sippy cup at all. I just bought him a cup with a straw and he is trying..but not quite sure about that either.

I just can't believe he is nine and a half months old.

Kung Pao Shrimp

I am trying my hardest to get some meal plans in order and I looked again to Pinterest for inspiration. For some reason it is just really hard for me to do the same old spaghetti, tacos, meat and potatoes meals. I had tried a beef curry. Eh. It was ok but Jake and the kids hated it. Thankfully the next night I scored with Kung Pao Shrimp. I like it because it was not only tasty, but different from things that we have eaten in the past. Summer updates and Oliver is 9 months

The kids joined the summer reading program. This was always the highlight of my summer when I was a kid. They are looking forward to getting a free book at the end of it. Here is a picture of them after racing their derby car. They were mad because I said that we had to leave. They were actually doing really good. They are the only kids I know that can sweat with the AC on and just racing derby cars but they were at least quiet. Then some other kids came that continued to be loud and block the track. We were starting to get looked at by some people and even though it amazingly was not MY children causing the issues, I decided that we should leave. It was a fun time until we left though.

Also, Oliver turned 9 months old. He has become pretty good at sitting so I started to give him little baths in the tub. Every time he eats he makes a mess so we spray off and have a bit of splash time. He likes it, despite his face in this photo.

Look at me all big.

I have 6 teeth and am working on molars. I am NOT a happy camper and just have wanted my mom nonstop for the past couple days.

The boys were pretty proud of this sky scraper. It's taller than Elijah's loft bed. It's already stayed up for a full day without toppling over.
